You wait for one Sherman ARV to come along...

2024-06-14 00:00:00

Leaving all the fuss over last week’s Golden Ticket winner, it’s time to look at some new releases and at what is coming up for Baccus over the next couple of months.  But first, we have this week’s Magic Order number which stands at #29133.

Let’s start with some new releases, and this week we are mostly about making do and mending, as we’ve made available not one, not two, but THREE Sherman ARVs.

And the very first Baccus Golden Ticket winner is...

2024-06-11 00:00:00

Lindy and I are delighted to be able to announce the first ever winner of the Baccus Golden Ticket draw.

The prize for the month of may goes to Shaun Gregory.

We are really happy that it’s gone to such a deserving winner.   We cannot do better than Shaun’s own words:

The Joy of Six is getting nearer...

2024-06-07 00:00:00

Hi everyone, we’re holding off new releases this week, (and we have some lovely stuff to release on an unsuspecting world), as it’s time for an update on this year’s Joy of Six show.   However, we have the usual announcement of this week’s magic order number, which stands at #29047.

Hi there, it’s Monday, so it must be time for me to do the Friday post that didn’t quite make it last week.  Apologies for the break in communications.  Unforeseen circumstances, technical issues, unavoidable thingamabobs and all that…mumble, mumble…

And you thought 6mm was small?

2024-05-10 00:00:00

Hello all, and it’s something a wee bit different from us this week, as we launch a new range.   I’ll tell you all about it once I get this week’s housekeeping out of the way.  Let’s start with the magic order number, which this week stands at #28813.    Moving on, can I repeat the message from last week – we will not be attending the Partizan show at Newark on 18th May, as we will be on holiday.     We can’t take bits along for you to collect, as we will not be there!

But, enough of the boring stuff.   It’s new release time, and this little lot may come as a surprise, as they didn’t feature in the turn of the year predictions list.   I do like to keep you lot on your toes….

It's been a busy old week...

2024-05-04 00:00:00

Before I launch into this week’s waffle, just a quick word about this time of year in the UK.    The April/May period is always one of extreme pressure at Baccus HQ.   We kick off with Salute, which is like a huge wargamery black hole, sucking time and effort into itself.   We’ve only just started to recover from this event and then we fall headlong into the Easter holidays, which creates two consecutive short working weeks and usually coincides with staff taking extra days off, (post-Salute recovery mode), and when we finally lurch over the line into May, we have two bank holidays ate each end of the month.    To say that this usually creates a few problems with getting orders out in a timely manner, is an understatement.   All of which brings us to the magic order number for this week, which currently stands at #28737.

This is a record for us, not just in the sheer number of orders turned around in a week, but also by volume of metal involved.   Prior to packing and processing, orders are delivered to the admin team in plastic bins.   In a good week we will process around 16 or 17 of these bins.   Last week, we processed 23 bins.    Well done to the team, Tony, Tom and Andrew for casting the little chaps and to Lindy for single -handedly getting them all sent on their way!

I will shortly be posting a list of the shows that we will be attending for the rest of the year....

I’ve got a Golden Ticket…

2024-04-26 00:00:00

Hi there, I’m Lindy and I’ve taken over the update for this week.   To be honest, I do most of the real work around here, so it’s only fair.   I’ll do the boring bit this week, so I will let you know that the current order number is #28605.

Now read on…

'What are you working on?'

2024-04-19 00:00:00

After last week’s frantic flurry of new releases, it’s going to be a quieter update this week, but first, we have the magic order number, which this week stands at #28547.

As you may well know, Baccus travels to a lot of wargames shows.   If there is on overwhelming subject of conversation and endless source of requests and queries, it is, ‘What are you working on at the moment?’.  It’s a fair enough question, and here, for the benefit of all of you who can’t collar your friendly purveyor so small fine scale figurines, is a sort of Work in Progress report.   (No piccies, so it’s sort of boring visually.)

Lots of new bits and pieces for you

2024-04-15 00:00:00

Welcome to the belated weekly update, as last Friday saw us in route to London for Salute.  Last week’s magic order number stood at #28476.  We will be back to our usual slot this Friday.

Many of you may have received a strange email from us referring to a voice message.  Please ignore the contents and delete the email.  Our address has been hijacked and used to send out malicious messages.  Many apologies for this, but it’s been beyond out control.   Many thanks also to those who contacted us to query the email.  I am catching up on replies, but I will contact each and every one of you.

Let’s move on to some more positive wargamery sort of things…

This week, it’s all about Salute

2024-04-05 00:00:00

Just one week to go before the second biggest date in the Wargaming World.  (The MOST important date is, obviously, the Joy of Six on July 14th).  Yes, it’s the immovable object that is Salute at the Excel centre.    Our stand is prosaically labelled as TB09.   If you can’t find us immediately, get yourself to the Warlord Games stand and turn right – we’ll be there.

We will be introducing three new sets of figures at the show, with general release coming the week after
