See Carolus Rise!

I've had a fascination with the Great North War, and especially the exploits of the Swedish army and their king, Charles XII, for over four decades.   I can remember fruitlessly pestering figure manufacturers to produce armies for the period, only to be told that there would be no demand.   As a result, when I started making my own figures through Baccus, one of the very earliest ranges to be sculpted was, quite naturally the Great North War.

It's all about Salute

Yes, one week to go to Salute and it's definitely occupying our minds.    Moving the world's biggest wargames show and them plonking it down in what is already a massively busy period for us was bound to cause us the odd logistical nightmare, but thus far, we are coping reasonably well.   Proof of that lies in the fact that despite spending a good proportion of our time preparing for the show, we have send out order #18511.

Warriors from the North...

The Baccus team have been working hard once again, and as a result, we have reached the magic number of #18470.  

No new releases yet – they will be coming soon as we approach completion of the resculpted Great North War Swedes.   One of the final codes to be done is the Swedish generals and personalities.   This will be a very animated and dynamic set of figures in keeping with the personality of Charles XII.   Here’s a preview of a couple of the sculpts so you can get an idea of what will be on offer.

Mouldy Baccus bits

After a brief absence the end of week Baccus update is back.   We know you missed us - our email inbox doesn't lie!    So, roll those drums, let us have the dramatic pause..............................and the number is...#18300.   Having reached this crescendo of excitement, it's incumbent on me to have to point out that some numbers prior to this will have missed this week's cut and lots of numbers post this will actually be on their way.  The explanation for this phenomenon is complex and probably includes terms such as 'causality', 'quarks' and 'fundamental', but I am told makes sense in a sort of slippery, sideways and logically illogical manner. 

The Shows must go on!

Hello all, and welcome to another Baccus update.  There is no magic number update this week due to the usual excuse of ‘technical issues’, but it will return in all of its pomp and glory next week.   There is a great deal of ground to cover in this post, so please do read it as there is a lot going on here at Baccus Megacorp Industries…

New Swedes and Old Romans

In the great big international lottery that is the Baccus running total, this week the magic number is #18040. As usual there may be a couple if numbers prior to this that didn't quite make the post this week, but will be on their way soon. Very importantly, don't despair too much about the numbers in front of your order. We are currently processing a lot of orders for the Pony Wars rules. We are able to turn these round very quickly and they don't need any casting doing, but they do serve to inflate the apparent length of the queue.

Baccus has moved!

Well, not really, just bits of us have, and not that far either. Other bits have stayed put.   The last few weeks have demonstrated only too well that our old administration/order processing/packing area was completely inadequate.   Handling our normal orders plus the extra ones caused by the release of Pony Wars was the last straw, so we took a couple of days out this week and relocated our admin area to some more spacious accommodation over the workshop.   Here's a picture of our new home.  Lindy can just be seen hard at work wrestling with yet another batch of export documentation.  

All of this has meant that we've not been as responsive to queries and emails as normal, but we expect to be back on top of things next week.  One thing that has remained constant is the weekly order number update.  This week we have reached the dizzying heights of number #17960.

Yet another Pony War new release!

The end of the week means that we have a new number for you all out there, and this week, it is...#17845.

But enough of the boring stuff, we've got a new release this week and one that I am glad to get out there as it may stop all of the emails asking me when I am going to release...
