2023-02-10 00:00:00

Welcome to the Baccus weekly update and the news that this week, the completed orders have reached the dizzying, nay vertiginous heights of #23530.

All of which moves us on to this week’s new release.   To be honest, it’s more of a re-release in the form of our all new, full colour edition of our very popular Polemos Napoleonic rules.

Little Wars TV Baccus Open Day video

2023-02-01 00:00:00

I'd like to draw some attention to a new video from the Little Wars team. When Greg et al came over to the UK to attend last year's Joy of Six show, they also joined in our Baccus Open Day workshop tour.

Given that these chaps seemed to be permanantly attached to a camera while they were ever here, they recorded their experience and the result is a nice little ten minute video which you can find here https://youtu.be/1Z4udPcB0xs

The release is great timing, as we are now taking bookings for the 2023 Baccus Open Day. This will take place on Saturday 1st July, the day before this year's Joy of Six.

Places are limited, so it's always best to get your booking in early. There are two sessions, morning and afternoon. If you want to reserve your place(s), then do get in contact.

Old friends revisited.

2023-01-27 00:00:00

Welcome to the Baccus weekly update, and what is currently a rare occurrence – the weekly new releases without any shades of olive drab, khaki or dunkelgelb.  But more of that later, as it’s time for the order number update.  This week we have reached the dizzying heights of #23380.

The first of this week’s releases is more of a new look for an old friend...

Just your average weekly Baccus update

2023-01-22 00:00:00

Welcome to another week and another Baccus update.  As ever, we’ll start proceedings off with this week’s milestone of the order number which is #23298.

Before we get into the new releases for this week, I thought I’d share something of a behind the scenes process we are doing with the Baccus website.   While we have the vast majority of our codes illustrated with a photograph, some of the photos themselves are not of the best quality.   We are constantly looking to upgrade older images.  This week, it has been the turn of the Dacians in our Ancients range.

Another Baccus year, another Baccus set of releases

2023-01-06 00:00:00

It’s our first week back into the 2023, so time to start as we mean to go on with some new releases. ‘Oh No!’, I can hear you groan, ‘When will this madness end?’   Sorry, but you will just have to put up with new bits and pieces emerging from the dark Satanic mill that is  Baccus HQ for the foreseeable future.

But more of that anon.  Let’s start with the first magic number of 2023 which is #23153.  Many apologies if you placed order #25154 and are even now howling at the moon and cursing the tardiness of the Baccus casting team, but they are still getting up to speed having overdosed on mince pies, turkey leftovers and far too much seasonal cheer.  The hard grim dose of reality at being once again chained to a casting machine has been a shock to the poor things.

Storytelling and Myths...

2022-12-28 00:00:00

Midwinter is the Dark time of the year. The time when the cold and the snow force humans into shelter, and, in times past, cause them to huddle around a fire - a source of warmth, comfort and indeed, survival.   Let us draw back the crusted curtains of time and see such a gathering, all intently listening to just one amongst them.   A man with no home, who travels from group to group, exchanging food and shelter for entertainment in those long, cold winter nights.  And what entertainment!  Accompanied by the seven stringed lyre, there are tales of warriors and gods, brave deeds and vanquished enemies, monsters and heroes.   Those listening are enthralled and know in their heads that such stories are but stories, fleeting half truths and exaggerations and that such things could never, ever, come to pass, but their Hearts, their Hearts told them that maybe, just maybe they could be true…https://youtu.be/8kk2vpW6448
